Purpose and Reason:

The Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) policy has been revised to reflect an increase in the resource limit for households consisting of, or including at least one member who is elderly (age sixty or older) and/or disabled. Beginning May 1, 2012, the resource limit for households containing an elderly and/or disabled member will be increased from $3,000 to $3,250 per month. This change in policy will be implemented retroactively to October 1, 2011.

Brief statement of Reason for Finding Imminent Peril:

To avoid the wrongful denial/discontinuance of benefits to applicants/beneficiaries.
